(J)=Jodan (Face Level); (C)=Chudan (Stomach Level)
Kata:
- Select one kata from: Tekki Nidan, Tekki Sandan, Bassai Dai, Kanku Dai, Jion, Empi, Hangetsu, Jutte and Gankaku
- Demonstrate kata randomly selected by examiner from Heian Shodan through Heian Godan and Tekki Shodan.
Basics:
- Sanbon Zuki (Step in punch face, twice stomach)
- Rising block-front kick with front leg-reverse punch
- Inward block in front stance-change to elbow strike in side stance-back fist strike-change back to reverse punch in front stance
- Knife hand block in back stance-front kick with front leg - change to spear hand thrust in front stance
- Outward forearm block-then at the same time with front arm and front leg execute short punch (J) and front kick (C)-reverse punch
- Twice front kick, stomach and face, front leg first
- Twice roundhouse kick, stomach and face, front leg first
- Side snap kick (J)
- Side thrust kick (C)
- Front leg side thrust kick-back leg roundhouse kick moving forward-reverse punch
- Front leg without putting it down, execute roundhouse kick-side thrust kick to same target-then step in punch (J)
- In stationary front stance, same leg without putting it down, front kick (J) to front-side snap kick (J) to side-side thrust kick (C) to side-roundhouse kick (C) to front
Sparring:
- Semi-free sparring: Step in punch, J x 1, C x 1, Front kick, C x 1, Side thrust kick, C x 1, Back kick, C x 1
- Free Sparring: Free sparring with 2 or more opponents ranked 3rd kyu or higher.
